Chip seal is one of the principal asphalt paving techniques. Although the construction process involved with this technique has remained largely unchanged since its origin, some interesting improvements have been introduced, mainly in line with the binders used and in the automation of the machine that lays the asphalt and, most especially, in spray tanks.
Surface treatments seal roads well, providing strong protection against wear caused by traffic and weather, while ensuring enough surface texture to guarantee skid resistance.
It is essential for these techniques to be well designed and executed to reach the desired objectives: the correct aggregate and type must be chosen (single coat or double coat) and an experienced team of workers must be available.
TRABIT has broad experience in the manufacture and application of surface treatments, we have technical personnel, foremen and machine operators with many years of experience in the manufacture and application of these techniques, which is essential for a technique that depends greatly on the skill of the people who apply it.
Similarly, our group manufactures its own emulsions at the Probisa facilities, located in Spain, which allows us to create “a la carte” emulsions that provide perfect solutions for each specific case.
